Wax Melt Quality
Most of the times, it can be tough to determine the quality of the wax melts. The packaging design, fragrance, wax and finally, the cost will indicate how good the product is. This guide will help you to choose premium quality and less hazardous wax melts.
Correct labels
Container or packaging of the quality wax melts should have safety labels. Because, Safety labels warn you about potential risks while using this product. These labels should have hazard and precautionary statements, pictograms and a list of sensitisers or any other ingredients that contribute to products classification. If wax melts don’t have this label, it means that the manufacturer does not comply with REACH and CLP regulations. Possibly maker/seller haven’t assessed their products for any potential risks that could occur while using the wax melts.
Burn-time
You can find the burn time of the wax tart on the outer packaging, the container label or the website. Because of the nature of the wax melt, different environments, breezes and other factors, wax melt burn time is usually indicative and vary up to 10%. For example, if wax melt burn time is 10 hours, burn time may vary from 9 to 11 hours. All quality wax tarts should have this information.
No scent
We know that olfactory perception is a very subjective thing, but we believe that great cold (while the wax melt is still solid) and hot throw (when wax melt turns to liquid) are essential to a quality wax tarts. If you can’t smell your product, it might be a sign that the added fragrance or wax is of low quality.
Price
It is pretty challenging to determine a wax melt quality by its price. Therefore, you should check the overall appearance: packaging, labels, scent and list of ingredients (if the manufacturer shares this information on the label or their website).
Another good indicator of quality is safety guidelines. All manufacturers of quality products usually spend additional time writing safety information for their customers. Head to our Wax Melt Safety guide to find our more.
