OUR POLICY AND KEY ACTIONS
At Snug Scent, sustainability is not just a value – it’s woven into everything we do. While it’s nearly impossible to be completely green, we are committed to continuously minimising our environmental footprint. From product design to packaging, energy sourcing, and logistics, our entire business model is centred around eco-conscious practices.
We’re proud of the progress we have made and are constantly striving to do more. Here’s what we’re doing to make Snug Scent even more sustainable:
Reducing our carbon footprint
Every order placed plants a tree, helping to grow global forests and fight climate change. To date, we have funded 4,718 trees and offset 57.51 tonnes of CO₂ through our partnership with Ecologi.
We operate exclusively online to eliminate the environmental impact of physical retail, and our internal processes are 100% digital, reducing paper use dramatically.
Our operations are powered through Octopus Energy, a UK-based renewable energy supplier that exclusively provides electricity generated from wind, solar, and hydro sources. This applies to our laboratory, packaging area, and home-based office, reducing the carbon footprint associated with production and administration.
Certified CO2-neutral website
Our website is proudly certified CO₂-neutral through CO2 Neutral Website. Hosting with a certified provider ensures that browsing our site contributes to sustainable projects around the world, supporting a greener digital economy.
Eco-friendly packaging
Our packaging is designed with minimalism and reusability in mind:
-We use recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials wherever possible.
-All containers – jars, bottles, and boxes – are designed for reuse.
-We provide clear recycling and disposal instructions on our products.
While we aim to avoid plastic, some products like diffusers and sprays require small plastic components to ensure safety and prevent leakage. We continue to test alternatives and are committed to adopting more sustainable solutions as they become viable.
So far, we have reused 43.7 kg of packaging material from incoming shipments!
Recycling equipment and other waste
We actively recycle electronics and office consumables like toner cartridges, and we responsibly dispose of or donate old computers and printers. Our upcycling scheme invites customers to return used product containers for repurposing – keeping materials in use and out of landfills.
OUR TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN
Shopping with Snug Scent means contributing to a healthier planet. For every order placed, a tree is planted through our collaboration with Ecologi, helping to restore forests and offset carbon emissions.
To date, Snug Scent has:
-Funded 4,718 trees
-Supported multiple reforestation and climate-positive projects globally

-Avoided 57.51 tonnes of CO₂ emissions

It’s easy to help the environment when you shop with us! A portion of your order value will be sent to Ecologi, who will use it to plant a tree and fund other carbon offsetting projects. You can visit our Ecologi profile to see our forest growing. Each cluster of trees can be clicked on to see where they’ve been planted and the positive effects on the climate.

We’re proud to be part of a growing movement to make the internet more sustainable. Our website’s hosting is certified as carbon-neutral, meaning we invest in renewable energy and Gold Standard certified projects to counteract emissions.
Wondering how this works?
CO2 emissions have been calculated based on the average number of page views, consumption for hosting and power to run our website. This allowed us to donate money towards projects that participate in Gold Standard certified initiatives, such as Stove and Water projects in Africa, Wind projects in Turkey and more!
