How long Snug Scent wax melts will last?
Experience the burst of fragrance with Snug Scent's wax melts, designed to enrich your home with layers of natural aromas. Here's what you need to know about the longevity and effectiveness of our wax melts:
- Single Wax Melt Weight: Each of our wax melts weighs 20 grams, crafted to ensure the perfect balance of wax and essential oils for optimal fragrance release.
- Box Content: A single box contains 12 wax melts, totalling 240 grams.
- Duration of Fragrance: Each wax melt is designed to last for up to 4-5 hours.
Our box of natural wax melts is one of the biggest on the market so they will fill your spaces with enchanting scents for many sessions.
We also want to note that wax melts have a significantly stronger scent when comparing to candles. This is due to the amount of wax in the wax pool. A larger wax pool means that more essential oils are heated and released at once, resulting in a stronger and more immediate scent dispersion.
How Our Natural Wax Melts Are Made
Have you ever wondered how wax melts transition from simple, raw ingredients to the aromatic wonders you love. We don't know how other's do it, but our process, steeped in care and precision, ensures each wax melt brings a piece of nature’s tranquillity into your home.
Pre-production: Crafting the Perfect Blend
It all begins with the essence of nature – our essential oils. We meticulously mix these oils into unique blends, preparing them to infuse your spaces with unparalleled natural fragrances.
Production: The Art of Wax Melt Creation
- Melting the Wax: In a large container, we gently melt the soy wax, preparing it for its transformation. Soy wax is chosen for its clean burn and sustainability, ensuring an eco-friendly experience.
- Preparing for Pouring: Once the wax reaches the optimal temperature, we transfer it to a smaller container. This crucial step ensures precision in crafting the perfect wax melts.
- Adding the Magic Touch: Cooling the soy wax to just the right temperature, we introduce our essential oil blends. Each blend requires a specific temperature for mixing, ensuring the fragrance is perfectly captured.
- Cooling to Perfection: As the wax and oil mixture cools to the ideal pouring temperature—varied for each essential oil blend—we prepare for the next step of creation.
- Pouring Into Moulds: The blend is then carefully poured into silicone moulds. Before the wax sets, we add dried botanicals, embedding the essence of nature directly into each melt.
- Setting the Aroma: Covered to lock in the fragrance, the moulds rest overnight, allowing the wax melts to form perfectly.
- Curing for Excellence: Finally, we remove the wax melts from the moulds and seal them in containers for a 10-day curing period. This crucial step allows the soy wax and essential oils to bond strongly, enhancing the scent throw and longevity of our melts.
Post-production: The Finishing Touches
Our wax melts aren’t just another product; they’re a sensory experience. Each melt is carefully packed into boxes, labelled with love, and ready to bring the essence of nature into your home.
Through this meticulous process, we ensure that each natural wax melt captures the pure essence of its ingredients, offering you a clean, long-lasting fragrance experience. Welcome to our world, where nature meets craft, and every melt tells a story.
How to Use Our Natural Wax Melts
Our natural wax melts are designed to envelop your space in layers of natural aromas. Follow these simple steps to unlock the full potential of your aromatherapy session:
- Prepare Your Wax Melter: Since our wax tarts are wickless, they require a wax melter or oil burner to release their scents. Find the perfect wax melter for your home here.
- Light It Up: Place one of our wax melts in your burner and light a tealight candle underneath. For an optimal experience, we recommend using our unscented Natural Wax Tealights, crafted to complement our wax melts perfectly.
- Enjoy the Aroma: As the wax tart begins to melt, you'll notice the aroma filling the room. The scent will grow stronger as the wax becomes softer, creating an enveloping atmosphere of comfort and relaxation.
- Adjust to Your Preference: If the scent isn't strong enough after the wax has fully melted, feel free to add another wax melt to the pool. Please proceed with caution to avoid splashing, as the wax can be very hot.
Important Tips for Safe Use
- Tealight Duration: We highly recommend using 4-hour tealights in your wax melter. Extending beyond 4 hours could not only shorten the lifespan of your melter but also pose fire risks.
- Wax Melter Care: Regular care and proper use of your wax melter ensure a lasting fragrance experience and reduce the chance of fire hazards. For tips on choosing and maintaining the best wax melts burner, read our ultimate guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wax melts are solid pieces of wax that carry a particular scent. When you melt the wax in the burner, it releases the smell into the air. This is a wickless way to enjoy your favourite smells, but you will need an oil burner and tealight for it to work.
You will need an oil burner and tealight to use your wax melts. The oil burner should be placed on a stable surface, and the tealight should be placed in the centre of it, underneath. Then, add the wax melt to the clean burner dish. As it melts, it will release its scent into the air.
In theory, there is no difference. Botanical, by definition, means derived from natural sources. So our soy wax melts can be classified as both natural and botanical, as we only use natural ingredients such as soy wax and essential oils.
The scent throw time of our botanical soy wax melts is approximately 5 hours per 1 wax melt (~20 grams). In other words, the scent throw time for 240g of wax melts is around 60 hours. Adding more natural wax melts will increase the strength of the scent, but not the scent throw time.
This is called Wax “frosting”. Frosting is a white, crystalline layer that forms naturally on soy wax. Frosting does not affect the performance of your soy wax melts.
Wax melts should be stored in a cool, dry place. We recommend storing them in their original packaging until you’re ready to use them. This will help keep them fresh and potent.
If you ever see white “smoke” coming from your wax melt when it's being used, don’t worry – it’s just a vapour from the aroma oil. You may see it more with some scents than others, but there’s no need for alarm. If you do see black smoke, however, put out your tealight candle right away – the wax is burning too hot, or there may be a hairline crack in the dish of your burner.
