Every single soy candle is hand poured in the UK from our own blend of natural oils, essential oils and soy wax, so that you can enjoy the natural scents with all the therapeutic and aromatherapy benefits.

What's so special about Snug Scent Soy Candles?

All of our scented soy candles are hand poured using natural ingredients, including essential oils, soy wax and cotton wicks. Our soy candles don't contain mineral oils, petroleum-based fragrance oils, paraffin wax, dyes or glitters. If you look close enough, you can spot some small imperfections, such as frost or tiny particles of plants which are there due to the natural nature of the ingredients (of course, none of these affects the burn or the scent throw).

All ingredients to make our scented candles are environmentally friendly, sustainable and ethically sourced, which means that they have been sourced from suppliers who adhere to sustainability, fair working conditions and wages. To make our soy candles, we use a natural soy wax which is environmentally friendly and comes from soybeans that are sustainably grown. In addition, our scented candles don't contain palm oil or other ingredients related to deforestation. Oh, also, to tackle deforestation - 1 tree will be planted upon completion of every single order.

Our essential oil candles are perfect for aromatherapy because they are made from pure essential oils. And every aromatherapy lover knows that the best therapeutic results can only be achieved when using natural oils.

Our scented candles are proud to be handmade in small batches. Every single soy wax candle gets the love and the care that it needs to be one of the best soy wax candles on the market! Every single batch of essential oil candles is cured for at least 10 days and then tested to make sure that the appearance, burn, and scent thrown meets our high standards. Interestingly, one batch takes around 15 days to make, test and release.

Our soy candles are vegan and cruelty-free, meaning that ingredients their are made from have not been tested on animals and do not contain any animal products. You can read more about what makes candles vegan.

How to use our Natural Candles?

The first time you burn your scented candle, we highly recommend burning it for a minimum of 2 hours and no longer than 4 hours. Keeping it lit until the whole surface becomes liquid is very important. Burning less than 1 hour can cause the soy candle to 'tunnel', which leaves a build-up of wax around the sides and can reduce the maximum burn time. Burning a candle for longer than 4 hours can cause the wick to slant or move. The correct first-time use will help to burn the candle down slower and more evenly.

Before every use, trim the wick so it's no longer than 5-10mm. This will help to control the size of the flame, avoid 'mushroom' wicks and improve the lifespan of the candle.

Burn time and scent throw

One candle will last approximately 35-40 hours because candles burn and release their scent slowly. But, for it to last for that long candle must be taken care of; here are some tips:

  • First time, burn the candle for at least two hours or until the whole surface becomes liquid;
  • Do not burn it for longer than 4 hours;
  • Trim the wick, so it's no longer than 5-10mm.

Sustainable Packaging

Snug Scent candles come in a reusable/recyclable glass jar with an aluminium lid WITHOUT plastic liner. The candle is wrapped in white tissue paper to prevent scratching.

Shipping packaging depends on the order, but you can expect your candle to arrive surrounded by biodegradable corn puffs and/or shredded paper.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Firstly, burn your candle for 2-4 hours or until the wax melt pool reaches the sides of the jar at a time.
  2. When done burning, extinguish the flame with a snuffer.
  3. Before your next use, trim the wick to 5mm. This will help to control the size of the flame.
  4. Don’t burn the candle all the way down. Stop burning your candle leaving around 0.5-1cm of soy wax in the container.

Store your natural soy candle in a cool (below 25oC), dry place away from direct sunlight.

In theory, there is no difference. Botanical, by definition, means derived from natural sources. So our soy candles can be classified as both natural and botanical, as we only use natural ingredients such as soy wax, essential oils and cotton wicks.

We use 100% pure essential oils and natural hydrogenated (process needed to turn soybean oil into wax) soy wax. Our wicks are lead-free and made out of cotton and paper. However, we couldn’t avoid having some plastic in our candles – we use plastic-based hot glue to stick wicks to the container. Although the glue is plastic-based, at least it is vegan and has no animal products!

Although these products have no expiry date, we recommend burning the candle within 24 months. These candles are made of 100% pure essential oils and natural soy wax; therefore, they could lose their colour and scent if used for longer than that.

We believe that the excellent candle experience begins with proper candle care. We always recommend that the first time you burn your candle, burn it for a minimum of 2 hours and no longer than 4 hours. Trim the wick to 5-10mm before lighting the candle each time. When the candle is ‘resting’, keep it closed, in a cool, dry place and away from the sunlight.

Yes! They don’t have any nasty petroleum ingredients, and the wicks are lead-free! There are only pure essential oils and soy wax.

Yes, they are! They are made using only responsibly and ethically sourced soy wax.

Cracks, sinkholes, ‘frosting’, and other texture changes are expected in soy wax candles. These imperfections happen during the manufacturing process. However, there is nothing to worry about! Those imperfections do not affect the burn, melt or scent! Actually, imperfections like that can be one of the indicators that you have purchased a product with natural soy wax and essential oils!

Wax pool is a description of the melted wax in a burning candle. Full wax pool – the melted wax fills the entire top layer of the candle.

Candle tunnel appears when a candle burns down its centre, leaving hard wax on the sides. This wasted wax means the candle won’t achieve it’s stated burn-time.

Mushroom wick occurs when the wax of a candle is unable to burn fast enough to keep up with the wick in the candle.

‘Mushrooming’ occurs when the wax in your candle is unable to burn fast enough to keep up with the wick. We always recommend trimming the candlewick if it is longer than 5-10mm. Trim the tip of your wick every time you use your candle.
